More than ten thousand residents turned up this morning at Bukedea Teaching Hospital Grounds in Bukedea District as the free RR Eye Camp officially began, marking an overwhelming response on its first day. People from across the region gathered in large numbers to access specialized eye care, making the outreach one of the most significant community health efforts in the area.

The camp, organized by the Ruparelia Group, is being held in honor of the late Rajiv Ruparelia. His legacy of generosity and compassion continues to inspire initiatives focused on improving the well-being of vulnerable communities. Through this program, his vision is being carried forward by offering free eye screening, treatment, and surgical services to those in need.

Medical teams and volunteers, including dozens of health science students from Victoria University, are working around the clock to serve the high turnout. Organizers have confirmed that the camp will continue until 29th March 2026. Beneficiaries have commended the initiative for bringing hope and expanding access to essential healthcare, especially for individuals who would otherwise struggle to afford such services.
