Matugga Police have successfully made significant progress into the aggravated robbery that occurred on 14t h July 2026 at Rafiki gardens located in Kiti A cell Nangabo sub county Wakiso district.

Following operations conducted by the Police, two suspects, Michael Mutyaba and Paul Bazalanga, were arrested in separate operations.
According to ASP Luke Owoyesigyire Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson the arrests led to the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, two loaded magazines containing 58 rounds of ammunition, and two camouflage uniforms believed to have been used during the commission of the offence.

ASP Owoyesigyire says that the robbery involved armed men who attacked a beer delivery truck, assaulted the driver, shot the manager of Rafiki Gardens, and robbed customers of their mobile phones and other valuables before fleeing the scene.
Investigations are ongoing to apprehend the remaining members of the criminal group and recover additional exhibits linked to the case.

The arrested suspects remain in police custody and will be arraigned before the courts of law on charges related to aggravated robbery and other offences once investigations are concluded.
