Health Workers under their umbrella body Uganda medical association (UMA) have vowed to match to state house and parliament on 20th/07/2022, seeking for the implementation of Presidential directive.
The revelation has made by Dr. Samuel Oledo Odongo president UMA saying on labours day president Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni directed ministries of public service and health to expeditiously deploy all the sacked Covid 19 health workers which has not implemented yet.

Dr. Samuel Oledo says by 14th this month they received 96 Covid 19 cases at the radius of Kampala among which 8 died thus a need to recruit more health workers to handle the situation before it escalates.
He adds that this presidential directive is vital and paramount because there is a gap of 60% health workers since the government currently employees 40%.
Oledo has appealed to the line government ministries and agencies to implement their demand of PAYE tax reduction of health workers salary from 30% to at least 10%, as well as releasing well elaborated salary structure of theirs regarding the hierarchy.

Dr. Oledo has however, applauded the government for the increment of health budget from over Shs 500b to 700b, however he has warned those concerned not to tamper with that money but rather put it to proper use.
One of Covid 19 sacked doctors, Musa Luhere has supported the move of his boss Dr.Samuel Oledo come 20th next month saying they are currently living challenging life.
Musa Lumumba, the president of Uganda Medical Internees has also disclosed that on 24th, they will also match to ministry of health seeking for the payment of the rest of medical Internees who have not yet been paid.
