Police launch Manhunt for Boda Boda Riders Who Brutally Robbed Retired Bishop Zack Niringiye

By Robert Segawa

Police in Ntinda have initiated a manhunt for a group of Boda Boda riders involved in a daylight attack on retired Bishop Zack David Niringiye. The violent robbery occurred on Monday, July 29, while Bishop Niringiye, a resident of Kimera Road, Village 12, Ntinda Parish, was out for his regular midday jog.

The incident unfolded as Bishop Niringiye approached Commercial Road, near Rock View Hotel. Reports indicate that he was confronted by individuals on a motorcycle, who struck him with a blunt object, causing him to lose consciousness and collapse. During the assault, the assailants stole the Bishop’s iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesman, confirmed the attack and revealed that the victim received immediate first aid at a nearby clinic and has since been discharged.

“We are actively pursuing the suspects and are committed to bringing those responsible for this heinous act to justice,” Owoyesigyire stated. “Our efforts are ongoing, and we will provide updates as more information becomes available.”

The police have urged anyone with information about the suspects or the incident to come forward and assist in the investigation.
