The Council of Bishops of the Uganda Orthodox Church has announced that His Beatitude Theodoros II, the Orthodox Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, will undertake a significant 3-day Patriarchal visit to Uganda from February 18-21, 2025.

Addressing the press, Archbishop Jeronymos Muzeeyi, Chairman of the Council of Bishops and Metropolitan of Kampala, revealed the schedule for the highly anticipated visit. On February 19, His Beatitude will celebrate Divine Liturgy at the Sts. George and Andrew Parish in Lwemiyaga, Sembabule, within the Holy Metropolis of Kampala.
The following day, February 20, 2025, the Patriarch will visit the Orthodox Diocese of Gulu and All Northern Uganda. He will consecrate and celebrate Divine Liturgy at both St. Catherine Parish, Acholi Nyeke, and St. Nicholas Parish in Apon Bedo, Gulu.

On February 21, 2025, His Beatitude will visit the Orthodox Diocese of Jinja and All Eastern Uganda, continuing his historic tour of the country.
Archbishop Muzeeyi emphasized the importance of this visit, urging the faithful and the general public to come together in large numbers to welcome the Patriarch with joy and celebration. The Archbishop called it a momentous occasion for the Orthodox Church in Uganda, a time to receive the blessings of the Holy Father.

The Organizing Committee, led by Hon. Theodore Ssekikubo, will soon release a detailed program for the visit, ensuring that all arrangements are in place to honor His Beatitude’s presence.
This visit marks a remarkable chapter in the history of the Uganda Orthodox Church, strengthening ties with the broader Orthodox Christian world and offering a unique opportunity for the faithful to receive the blessings of the Patriarch.
