In a heartfelt thanksgiving ceremony, the students, teachers, and parents of Uganda Martyrs Secondary School Namugongo gathered at the Catholic Shrine Namugongo to honor the Almighty God for the exceptional performance of their students in the 2024 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) exams. The event was a powerful demonstration of unity, gratitude, and academic excellence.

The ceremony was led by Rev. Father Alex Ssemogerere, the school’s Chaplain, who expressed profound gratitude to the parents for their unwavering support throughout the academic year. Father Ssemogerere particularly highlighted the crucial role parents played in ensuring their children had access to the necessary school fees and resources. He also encouraged the current candidate class students to remain dedicated and work diligently toward their exams, reminding them that their predecessors had set a high bar, proving that excellence is achievable with commitment.
“We thank the Almighty God for the wisdom He granted our students during the examination period,” Father Ssemogerere said, urging the current students to push beyond their limits and continue the legacy of academic excellence.
Rev. Father Henry Kasasa, the Headmaster of Uganda Martyrs SS Namugongo, also addressed the congregation, sharing his pride in the school’s remarkable performance. He emphasized that the school had once again proven its status as an academic giant, with all 449 candidates who sat the UACE exams in 2024 achieving impressive results. With the best student obtaining maximum 20 points, a testament to the school’s exceptional academic standards.

Father Kasasa extended his gratitude to the parents and teachers for their dedicated efforts, acknowledging that the collaboration between all parties had been key to the students’ success. He encouraged the students in Senior Six to follow in the footsteps of their predecessors, giving their all in the upcoming exams to ensure even greater achievements in the future.
Among the top-performing students were Otim Francis, who scored 20 points in PCM, Patricia Anam, who earned 19 points in PEM, Aturinda Misha with 19 points, and Arinaitwe Marvci, who also scored 20 points. These outstanding results serve as a proud reflection of the hard work and dedication of the students, teachers, and parents alike.
As the ceremony concluded, the school community expressed their optimism for the future, wishing all graduates success in securing excellent university placements and pursuing fulfilling careers. With a tradition of excellence firmly in place, Uganda Martyrs SS Namugongo continues to be a beacon of academic achievement, inspiring future generations to reach for the stars.
